LEJOGLE 2020 – Preparation

Whenever you want to attempt something pretty epic, it's generally a good idea to have some kind of plan. And like a good Cub Scout it helps to always be prepared.

I’ve turned into someone I barely recognise

As someone who has tended to lack a certain amount of self confidence in her abilities on a bike, I now barely recognise the person that I am becoming. If you’ve followed my blog, you might be a bit surprised by this. So let me explain myself. What I do possess is a ballsy determination.....

A New Reality – Lockdown Wk2 – Days 6 & 7

Hurrah, another weekend at home adapting to our new normal.  On Saturday this meant that the Hubster whizzed around the house cleaning windows, dusting, clearing weeds from the garden, doing washing etc.  Since it's not something he does much of normally, I kept out of his way.
After three weeks of reduced exercise, and jumping on the scales to realise that I have gained 1/2 stone, I knew that I needed to pull my finger out and start recreating my daily exercise habit.
One problem though is that I am now sharing the turbo trainer with the Hubster.

A New Reality – Lockdown Wk1 Day 2

As the country starts to get to grips with the first full day of lockdown, people are coming to terms with this new way of living in their own way......
But even better than all the community sharing is the fact that people are just trying to cheer each other up. They've stopped moaning about loo roll hoarders and started putting their children's rainbow pictures in their windows

Mindset – what happens when you change your perspective

Being a long distance cyclist was accepting that it was all I could become. Yes I could cycle a long way, and I loved to do this, but I felt I was deluding myself if I thought I could ever be even slightly competitive as a cyclist. Completing a long distance event in time, let alone a good time, was something that more capable & usually younger women did, not me. I would enter, because I liked the idea of a particular ride, and my aim was simply to complete it, hopefully in time.

So what’s change my perspective?
